Board Meeting
We had a fruitful Board Meeting on 7 February. Thank you to those who were present. Susan Bell, our Secretary Extraordinaire, tells that the minutes will be circulated very shortly (if not already) and they are also available on the website so have a look and see the gems of wisdom we have been discussing.
Lunch Meeting with Geraldton Rotary Presidents
Last week I had a lunch meeting with Viki Fennell, President of the Rotary Club of Geraldton Greenough and Kaylia Broad, President of the Rotary Club of Geraldton. We discussed a couple of things that I need to bring back to you.
One is the RWADE- Rotary West Australian Driver Education that is coming up on Thursday 15 March. I am told this is a 3 club event that is driven by the Rotary club of Geraldton, Di Gilleland in particular, but it is essentially something that we all need to contribute to. To that end we need at least 3 volunteers to help out because last time they were struggling with the lack of helpers. We did lunch time cooking but not actually assist with the running of the event during the day.
Paul Harris Fellow to local non Rotarian citizens – We also discussed the possibility of awarding a Paul Harris fellow to a non Rotarian couple who do a lot for Geraldton which would be from all three clubs, not just one or the other. Both of the Presidents were keen on the idea and have taken it back to their respective Boards for discussion. So if this comes about it will be a first (we think) for Geraldton, that being a PHF from all clubs. I prefer to keep the name of the recipients under wraps for the moment although if you were to read the Board meeting minutes that Susan will be circulating you will find out who it is.
