A long meeting but an enjoyable one with a very interesting guest speaker.

Thank you to our International Exchange Student Lisa Marie for being a very good welcoming officer.
Not only did we feel very welcome but it allowed Lisa to avoid carrying the dreaded fines box later in the meeting.
Its that time of year again when the weather is lovely and Rotarians take to the highways and airways for annual holidays.  We still had 19 sit down to dinner so a noisy productive meeting was had by all.

Special Projects Office Mark Worthington and Community Services Director Mick Powell gave us a report on the very successful launch on the Yellow Submarine project.  A lot of public interest in the future of the submarine.
Director Mick also spoke on the need for nominations for Camp Opportunity which have now opened up for this year.
Director Greg Pike announced our next Vocational visit will be at the Police Station on October 22nd.
Secretary Tom Thuijs continued his usual practice and had a couple of goes at his report.  Somethings never change.

Presidents report
Mick Powell and I attended the Rotary Club of Geraldton Greenough meeting last week to speak to them about our projects for the year.
Past RI Director Noel Trevaskis will be attending our club meeting on Monday 15th October.
A reminder that we have a board meeting on Wednesday evening at 6pm at Tom's premises.
Also still looking for transport for the 3 exchange students next weekend.

GUEST SPEAKER
A very interesting speaker this week when James Lochhead told us about his adventures with his family as they headed out of Queensland on a boat for a few years.  Many excellent photos later James, his wife and 2 children ended up in Thailand before coming back to Geraldton to settle into a more traditional lifestyle.  Thanks for sharing your journey with us James.
