The President welcomed the 14 members in attendance and presented the annual theme pin to Greg Eastman as he was absent from Change Over
President’s Report
President Sue attended the Rotary Club of Geraldton Greenough Change Over on Saturday evening to enjoy the induction of incoming President Jason McCarthy.
There will be a meeting run by District Youth exchange Chair Joanne Bowen and Nordic Countries Placement Officer Jill Hanna on Thursday evening at 5.30pm at the Geraldton Club.
Changes in the requirements for hosting Rotary Youth exchange students will be discussed. Our Youth Exchange Director Susan Bell, President Sue, Student Mentor Lee and the host parents for this years inbound exchange student will be attending.
Wednesday evening a meeting of the executive of our club will be meeting to produce the calendar for this Rotary year. This will then be available on the website for all members to utilise.
it has been decided that when a guest speaker is not scheduled for our weekly meetings we will be asking a member of the club to share their experiences with us.
A new release movie is once again going to be used to raise funds for End Polio Now on the 1st November. This is expected to be a 3 club initiative in Geraldton.
On the 15th October we have a special guest speaker who requires a longer speaking time allocation so it is anticipated that we will hold a partners meeting with minimum formalities that evening.
The guest speaker is Jeremy Scott who is a major fund raiser for the Heart Foundation.
The 11th Battalion Living History Unit has invited anyone from our club to attend a commemorative ceremony to salute the 103rd anniversary of the taking of Leane's Trench in Gallipoli in 1915.
Food and refreshments will be provided.
A reminder that we have a speaker from Green Batch attending our meeting next Monday 23rd July.
We have invited members from the other 2 Rotary Clubs to attend and are expecting a good turn out for our meeting.
Club Service
Nygal reported in Michael Raj's absence that a productive committee meeting was held last week in conjunction with the Vocational committee and plans are underway for the 1st social event of the year in the Wildflower Tour.
Community Service
Michael Powell reported that the committee spoke at length about the promotion of the Yellow Submarine project and are now progressing down the path of preparing to be involved in the Sunshine Festival parade.
Vocational
Greg Pike is looking forward to announcing the 1st Vocational visit for the year very soon. He is waiting for the calendar meeting this week to finalise a date.
International
Lee Corrigan reported in Susan Bells absence that the Inbound exchange student arrives in Perth on the 25th July and will be arriving in Geraldton the following weekend. Looking for transport for Lisa-Marie but Lee can make a trip to Perth if necessary.

GUEST SPEAKER
Chris Edwards was our member speaker this week and was introduced by Tom Gorman.
Chris gave a very entertaining talk on building a world class boutique hotel in a game park in Tanzania. Accompanied by some wonderful photos it was a very entertaining presentation and enjoyed by all.
RAFFLE AND THUMBNAIL
Mike Purslow was the winner of this weeks raffle but he was not successful in Chase the Ace unfortunately (Or fortunately depending how you look at it!!)
Greg Eastman then gave us a brief history of his business life in Geraldton running a successful Architectural business. He also shared his recent holiday stories which sounded amazing.
