Global & District Grants Seminar
Yesterday I went to the Global & District Grants Seminar at the Inglewood Bowling Club in Perth. I learnt what is required for successful applications from clubs including important information such as what the sustainability requirement is and the importance of good stewardship such as a proper financial plan and acquittal of the grant at the end of the process. Now that I have attended that seminar our club is qualified to apply if we wish and I have something in mind for that that I will put to the Board when I get my act together.
Many folks went there for the same reason (ie to qualify) even though they had been to many of these seminars before but quite a few were excused early so they could rush home to watch some football game that was on the television??
PDG (Past District Governor) Ron Geary wants to come up to Geraldton to speak to us all (all 3 clubs) about this. Ron is Endowment and Major Gifts Advisor for Zone 8 and a Director of the Rotary Foundation Australia. I told Ron that I would speak to the other two Presidents and see what we can organise.
