President report.
Board Meeting
We had a successful Board meeting last Wednesday. Susan will get those all-important minutes out to us very shortly.
The penultimate Board meeting is Wednesday 2 May at Mid West Funerals.
The ultimate Board meeting (for this Board) would normally have been scheduled for Wednesday 6 June but considering Sue & I are off to Canada about then we have brought it forward a week to Wednesday 30 May. This will be a combined meeting for both the old and new Boards.
District Conference.
I enjoyed it, I loved it, I would do it again but I am glad it is over….Phew. both Sue Svensson and I had our crabby pants on at some stages but we all got through. You would think we would have over dosed on Rotary by now, but no…..here we are!
District Governor Lindsay Dry was so impressed by our team and all the hard work we did that he asked me to thank you all profusely. In fact he recorded this message for you all….
We, along with the other two Rotary Clubs, gave the PHF awards to both John & Beryl Rigter on the night. That went down very well. I had a tear in my eye when all 300 in the room stood up and gave them a standing ovation. Later Clark Scarff congratulated us three Presidents for this move and later still John Rigter spoke quietly to me and thanked us for giving the awards to each of them (as opposed to just him). Usually when he is given an award it just goes to him as the face of his business and poor Beryl is in the background forgotten yet she does just as much work as he does. They were both very grateful so great work Tom Thuijs (it was his idea).
Those Interacters ran the RDU supplies stall and forced me to spend all my hard earned millions there! But I will let Tom tell you more about that.
Guest Speaker: Mick Lambert spoke with great passion how we need to promote Geraldton.
Community Service: Mick Powell, spoke about the prospectors campout next weekend and encouraged everyone to go.
Secretary: Susan Bell, will send out reports shortly.
Membership: Greg Sivwright, bring friends along to our meetings.
Vocational Services: Tom Thuijs, Hollomby Foundation, we are sponsoring University Batchelor Education Graduation night, Lee and I are going along.
We still have stock for sale from the weekend.
John and Beryl had many likes on the film on facebook.
Jen Edwards, We have flyers on the table for a Ladies Luncheon, Sunday 10th June.
Mark Worthington, the bar was successful we will make over $2000 and we still have wine to sell. Deb had a raffle and made $1200.
Enjoy your week, Faye.
